Albergue Ave Fenix

There is no end to the compassion that Jesus Jato has for the pilgrims. We eat after the pilgrims and Jato insists we are all together for the meal. Moments before we were to sit down four young Germans (from Munich) limped into the albergue at 10:45pm. We had no beds or mattresses so Jato called around until he found space for them and then he drove them to their destination. They were happy pilgrims as they all had problems and were limping and very tired. We did not start eating till after 11:00pm and then there is cleanup after that. This is the life at Ave Fenix, the pilgrim always comes first.

The camera crew did return and they spoke with many pilgrims. They filmed Jato ringing the dinner bell and saying his little prayer before dinner. Then they filmed Jato serving of the dinner, the pilgrims did not seem to mind.

  1. The saga about the tired, limping pilgrims is very touching. There are indeed truly beautiful people in the world as shown by their actions.

It seems too that the film crew did not impinge too much on the workings of the albergue - that is good, and good that this is being documented.

A little home/Texas news - only yesterday, yes yesterday - day 87, did BP finally manage to completely stop oil gushing into the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. It is still a makeshift plug, but it is holding.

You no doubt were rather tired this morning!!

    Love you,
    Garry

Hi Luiza: How exciting about the film crew! Did you get filmed??? I know you are working very hard, but I know that you will be very rewarded in many ways. What a very priceless experience for you. I am so sorry that you could not sleep well, but I thank you soooooo much for Reiki, as I really need the therapy! I do feel somewhat better this morning. I would give you a ring, but I am not sure when your "off" time may be. It seems as if you are sort of on duty most of the time, depending on who walks up! May God bless you and your work. Enjoy, dear friend. Love, Dawn

  3. Hi Garry and Dawnie,

I did get a good nights sleep last night so I feel 100% better than yesterday as working on less than three hours sleep was tough.

I am happy that the oil flow has been plugged and hopefully BP will do their job with cleanup.

Yes Dawnie, a priceless experience. I am happy for you with Reiki and hope your water problems are now fixed.

    More on Blog ....

    Love,
    Luiza

AVOID - AVOID coming near the Restaurant!
     Don’t order Breakfast
Or you will face the maniac cook in the Restaurant!
Bed bugs - Drunken aggressive Aubergue Cook who is pushing People at 6.30 am in the morning
Because he is still drunk or high!
There are much better aubergues in this fantastic place!
